Privacy Policy
Effective 14 October 2026
HomeOS powers MyHomeConsole. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, the service providers that process it, and the choices available to account and household members.
Information we process
Account and household information: name, email address, authentication details, preferences, membership roles and invitations.
Household content: financial records, budgets, properties, vehicles, pets, contacts, tasks, reminders, uploaded documents and any notes you choose to add.
Service data: browser and device information, cookie choices, usage events, security logs, error reports and support communications.
We use this information to provide the service, secure accounts, answer requests, improve reliability, send requested communications and meet legal obligations. We do not sell household data.
Services that process information
Analytics
Google Analytics may receive cookie identifiers and usage events when analytics is configured and you accept optional cookies. You can decline or change that choice through cookie settings.
Error monitoring
Sentry may receive technical error details, request metadata and limited diagnostic context. Default personal-information collection is disabled.
Hosting
Render or Coolify-managed infrastructure hosts the application, database, backups and uploaded files for the deployed environment.
Purelymail, Brevo or the configured SMTP provider processes names, email addresses and message contents needed for verification, reminders, billing and support.
Payments
Chargebee processes subscription, customer, invoice and payment information. HomeOS stores billing identifiers and subscription state, not full payment-card numbers.
AI processing
The Co-Creator sends the prompt you enter and the minimum household context needed to an administrator-configured OpenAI-compatible model service. The default configuration uses a private Ollama service. Proposed changes still require your approval before HomeOS saves them.
Access and correction requests
- Signed-in users can submit an access or correction request from Privacy & data. You may also email contact@myhomeconsole.com.
- Describe the information or correction you need. Do not email passwords, payment-card numbers or identity documents unless we specifically request them through a secure channel.
- We verify the requester’s identity and household authority before disclosing or changing data.
- We acknowledge and respond within 30 days. If a request is complex or local law permits an extension, we will explain the reason and revised date.
Export and deletion
Export: household members with export permission can download the active household as a ZIP containing CSV records, account metadata, a manifest and available uploaded files. Viewers cannot export.
Account deletion: deleting an account removes its login, profile and subscription record. A sole-member household and its live data are deleted. Shared households remain for their other members, and the departing member loses access.
Household deletion: a household administrator can permanently delete the active household for every member. This removes its live records and uploaded files and cannot be undone.
Exceptions: deletion does not immediately remove protected backup copies, security/error logs, closed support records or billing records that must be retained for fraud prevention, dispute handling, tax, accounting or other legal obligations. These records are isolated from normal product use and expire under the schedule below.
Retention schedule
| Data | Retention | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Active accounts and household records | While the account is active | Kept so HomeOS can provide the service. You can export or delete this data from Privacy & data. |
| Cancelled accounts | 90 days after cancellation | Kept briefly for reactivation, export and billing support, then scheduled for deletion unless law requires longer retention. |
| Uploaded documents and receipts | Until the related record, household or account is deleted | Removed from live storage with the related data. Encrypted backup copies expire on the backup schedule. |
| Backups | Up to 35 days | Deleted data may remain in protected rolling backups until those backups expire and is not restored to the live service except for disaster recovery. |
| Security logs and error reports | Up to 12 months | Retained to investigate abuse, fraud, outages and security incidents, with access restricted to authorised staff. |
| Support requests and privacy requests | Up to 24 months after closure | Retained to document the request, response and any action taken. A legal dispute may require longer retention. |
